"Pepe Ravent¢s' father Manuel chooses the tanks for this wine, of which only 2000 bottles orso are made each year in a tribute to a more old-school style of PenedŠs sparkling. This is fullof the essence of Xarel-lo, a little more forward than the other wines yet pithy and pointedwith grapefruit peel and floral † almost lavendar-like † lift and dried herbs, gently fleshedout and balanced by the Macabeo. The ageing is beautifully pitched, but the whole blend iskept nimble with some smoky, salty energy. Fine stuff. "
