"A deeper pink but clear, the 2016 Champagne Emotion Brut Rosš is a Chardonnay-dominated blend with 40% Pinot Noir, aged for 10 months in small 228-liter barrels. The palate is focused and compact, with a chiseled, bright structure and notes of redcurrants and fresh white peaches. The Chardonnay shines on the palate, offering a focused and linear experience, while also being medium to full-bodied with good intensity. I really like this vintage; aromatically, it offers notes of kirsch and violets, and it shines with a just-delicious nose where the Pinot is prominent. On the palate, the Chardonnay adds a refined, chalky texture. It has the potential to age further, but wow, it,s also fantastic now, and honestly, was one of the most interesting and delicious wines I had at this tasting. On the nose, it,s reminiscent of fresh plum liqueur † decadent, pretty, and delightful † and it only becomes more intense as it opens. Upon a second tasting, the nose reveals more red wine and spice notes but remains very attractive and balanced, with red berries, currants, and cherries."

"The 2016 Brut Rosé Emotion is stellar, even better than it was last year. There's gorgeous textural breadth and intensity to complement the finesse that is such a signature here. Cranberry, blood orange peel and brisk saline notes build nicely over time. This is a wine of tremendous character. Dosage is 8 grams per liter. Disgorged: October 2022."

"Aged in one- to three-year-old 228-liter barrels from Tonnellerie Rousseau, Vilmart™s 2016 Emotion is a blend of 40% Pinot Noir (including 15% red wine) from Villers-Allerand and 60% Chardonnay from Rilly-la-Montagne. Disgorged in October 2023 with a dosage of eight grams per liter, this wine greets the nose with a highly aromatic bouquet of red berries, blood orange and spices. On the palate, it™s full-bodied, textured and enveloping, with ripe yet vibrant acidity and structuring phenolics that assert themselves on the long, perfumed finish. Gastronomic yet harmonious, this wine has the potential to age beautifully. As with all of Vilmart™s wines, it is vinified without malolactic fermentation, preserving its tension."

"A bright medium pink color, the 2015 Champagne 1er Cru Rose Emotion Brut Rose is 12% vin rouge with 8 grams per liter dosage. The nose is sunny and pretty with aromas of wild mixed berries, tangerine, biscotti, and powder. Medium to full-bodied, it has a more savory and pithy structure all the way through, although it™s well-managed, and it has a frothy mousse and a clean finish. A delicate saline note complements the wine, but it™s going to demand pairing and aging. Drink 2026-2040."

"Now with an additional year in bottle, the 2015 Brut Rosé Emotion has moved into its more nuanced, ethereal stage. Cranberry, mint, spice and white pepper open with some coaxing, taking the place of the more fruit-driven notes that were present last year. There's good depth, but today I find the 2015 a touch closed. As always, the Emotion is a Champagne of understatement that often has a real feeling of elusiveness. Dosage is 8 grams per liter. Disgorged: February 2022."

"A harmonious rosé Champagne, with sleek acidity creating a mouthwatering frame for the focused range of ripe black cherry, blood orange granita, ground ginger and lime blossom flavors. Shows good concentration as the flavors expand on the palate, but this is racy, with good drive and energy through to the lingering finish, where hints of chopped almond and minerally saline and chalk emerge. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Disgorged April 2021. Drink now through 2034. 50 cases imported."
