"The NV Tradicion Amontillado VORS, certainly has the more complex and subtle nose of all these VORS and is on average 45 years old. It has a very clean nose, with elegance and complexity, powerful but subtle notes of hazelnuts, honey and even some dates. The medium-bodied palate shows a sharp wine with strong salinity, it has the power and the lightness, in a very difficult combination. Drink 2013-2020.

"A piercing, bone-dry amontillado, with bitter orange, dried persimmon, Brazil nut and ginger notes, carried by finely beaded and very racy acidity. Almost bony through the finish, but the flavors are subtly persistent and keep pace with the salinity. Drink now. 300 cases made."

"Founded in 1991, Bodegas Tradition specializes in delivering very old wines, aged in their own cellars, but purchased from other producers around Jerez. This amontillado, for example, has an average age of about 45 years, significantly higher than what the label states. In Tradición’s well-defined style—zero concession to sweetness—it’s dry, austere and sharp, the intense acidity adorned only by notes of green olives, salt and chalk. And yet the wine conveys such depth that the savor seems to last forever. Pour this with a plate of pan-fried ortiguillas (sea anemone), a bar snack in Jerez."
