Tenju Shuzo

Founded in 1830, Tenju Shuzo is currently led by two brothers, Takeshi Ohi as the President and Hitoshi Ohi as the Managing Director. Located in Akita prefecture, the brewery is situated next to ‘Dewa Fuji’, Dewa Mountains that is next to Koyoshi River water that is optimal for sake brewing. The brewery collaborates with 12 local sake rice farmers to supply the brewery needs growing rice such as Miyama Nishiki, Akita Sake Komachi, the newly developed Hyakuden and Ichihozumi. The climate is suitable for low temperature and long-term fermentation. Their ‘Chokaisan’ line name is named after Japan’s most 100 famous mountains.
