Slightly higher temperatures and location within the warehouse affect angel’s share, and while only a few hundred miles separate whiskey country in Kentucky and Nashville, there’s enough climatic difference to impact the barrels Nashtucky selects and further ages. Nowhere is that more evident than in this high-rye Bluegrass beauty whose proof—as with all great cask strength whiskeys—belies a respectable but modest age statement, thus revealing the magic of the bottler’s selection and influence.
