"From 35-year-old vines on gravelly limestone soils and black earth and aged in French and Austrian barriques for 16 months, the 2022 St Laurent Ried Frauenfeld 1–TW Tattendorf displays dark (cherry) fruit with bee sting sweetness, and it is intense and fleshy and intermingles all this with smoky tones. Full-bodied, elegant and sweetish in the mouth, this is a supple red with ripe and concentrated fruit playing with oxidative nuances. Surprisingly fresh and precise, with elegant tannins, this is a Holzspur St Laurent with apparently lots of potential. It is pleasantly salty on the finish and thus quite stimulating despite its power and richness. It will age very well and should be allowed to do so. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork."

"The 2022 Sankt Laurent Ried Frauenfeld was picked from around 45-year-old vines on calcareous alluvial gravels. This contained a quarter of whole bunches in the ferment. Pure, dark cherry notes come with a lovely touch of cocoa. The palate is tender with fine, dense, ripe tannins that unite in silkiness. The fruit is ripe, smooth and detailed, still with a touch of pepper, like a more muscular, sultrier sibling of Pinot Noir."

"This might be the best St Laurent I've ever tasted. That bright, inviting purple hue leads into a dark and smoky palate; those two disparate impressions come together into a succulent whole. It's juicy, fresh, red cherry and rose hip/cranberry against darker fruit and foresty spice. Feels real, of a place, not relying on oak or any distractions whatsoever. Delicious. (TQT)"

"The 2021 Sankt Laurent Ried Frauenfeld was picked from 45-year-old vines rooting in calcareous alluvial gravels with chernozem topsoils. A three-week cuvaison was followed by aging in a mix of first- and third-fill barriques of French and Austrian oak. Reductive smokiness on the nose reveals a smattering of pepper. Once this has dissipated, a floral element of narcissus and dark peony appears. The palate is juicy, smooth and flowing with red-fruited waves of cherry. This is dense and tightly woven, with a slightly darker aspect and a structured web of tannins, still slightly astringent but balanced by fruit and freshness. (Bone-dry)"

"A maelstrom of dark spicy aromas, plus notes of licorice, red roses and wet earth rise from the glass of this impressive, youthful red from the St. Laurent grape. On the palate this is both meaty and velvety with compact, fine-grained tannins that make it feel way more powerful than its 13% alcohol suggests. Then, the very fresh and energetic finish lifts you up far enough to let you glimpse the stars. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold"

"From shallow alluvial, very calcareous soils in Tattendorf, Reinisch's dark ruby colored 2019 Ried Frauenfeld St Laurent opens with a deep and intense but fresh, lemon-scented and slightly flinty bouquet of black berries and crushed stones. Pure and bloody. On the palate, this is a juicy, salty, piquant and finely grippy yet silky-textured and refined Saint Laurent with ripe and quite open fruit, fine tannins and good freshness on the slightly plummy and developed finish. A very charming, elegant and accessible red with 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in January 2022."
