"The Monemvasia Winery 2024 Limniona Jackal takes its name from the wild jackals that roam the dry countryside of Lakonia. Made from estate-grown Limniona, the wine is fermented with wild yeasts, bottled unfiltered and aged on the lees for nine months in stainless steel. Marialena Tsimbidi explained that her father Yiorgos was initially hesitant to embrace a more contemporary expression of this variety, but the results are convincing. The bouquet is immediately attractive with aromas of red cherry, violet, rose and lilac candy. The floral intensity promised on the nose is less evident on the palate, where the wine remains lean and delicate with a notably light-bodied mouthfeel. Fresh and easy to drink, it would pair beautifully with traditional Greek vegetable dishes, especially roasted eggplant and feta."
