Tasting Notes

Vicario Herba Luisa Liqueur is crafted from fresh, estate grown Lemon Verbena (Aloysia triphylla) from Vicario’s farm in Greer, SC. Historically used as a calming digestif, Vicario’s Herba Luisa is named after Maria Luisa, the Princess of Parma and wife of King Carlos IV of Spain, who brought lemon verbena from the Spanish-colonized Argentina and Chile in the 17th century. The intensely tannic yet lemon-forward aroma of this liqueur lends itself to sauces for fish and poultry dishes, vegetable marinades, salad dressings, jams, puddings, or sorbet. Refreshing with soda water over ice, in a cup of tea, or as a peppy addition to cocktails. 38% ABV.
