'Aus den Gärten' Grüner Veltliner Federspiel [Late Release]

'Aus den Gärten' Grüner Veltliner Federspiel [Late Release]

Aus den Grten Grner Veltliner Federspiel Late Release

Thought to be the oldest documented vineyard, the name “Im Weingebirge” dates back to the 5th Century. The wines from this vineyard are known to have impressive depth and minerality. The soil is varied with loess on the higher terraces and deep topsoil over primary rock lower down the slope. The wine ages on its lees in old barrels, giving creamy texture.

"The 2022 Aus den Gärten Grüner Veltliner Federspiel is clear, intense and fresh on the stony/mineral and savory as well as saline nose that represents the loam and loess as well as paragneiss rocks of the soils selected for this wine. Aged in large oak casks until April of the following year, this is a medium-bodied, fresh and savory, remarkably intense and structured Veltliner for the long distance. However, its charming fruit is already attractive for many consumers. 11.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in January 2025."

"The 2022 Grüner Veltliner Federspiel is harvested slightly later than Zwickl/Hefeabzug, from vines that are on average 40 years old. Subtle yeast and sun-warmed hay on the nose lead into a very smooth, serene palate. Medium in body, the mid-palate is dense and buffered, with a pithy notion of lemon. Part of this was made in large-format wood. A salty streak teases on the mid-palate and finish. (Bone-dry)"
