"The red 2024 Microcósmico Garnacha is a clear step up from the Botijo from this same year. It is more serious, with more tension and more elegant and polished tannins, a subtler and more harmonious wine with citrus and floral characteristics. It's still quite primary but has complexity, depth and a mineral feeling, the texture on the palate."

"Fresh dark cherries, plums, berry jam and smoky aromas. Cranberry crunch, herbaceous sage and rosemary. Vibrant, juicy, ripe red fruits. Highly drinkable, with supple tannins and a long finish."

"The 2023 Microcósmico Garnacha was produced with grapes from older vines grown on slopes with slate soils at 650 to 700 meters in altitude in the village of Jarque in the IGP Valdejalón. It fermented with indigenous yeasts and 20% to 25% whole clusters that were foot trodden, and it matured in underground concrete vats for seven months. It has a little more complexity and depth than the Botijo Rojo and is varietal and juicy, with fine tannins and a dry finish. It has only 12.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.21 and 5.9 grams of acidity. 24,978 bottles produced. It was bottled in September 2024."

"The 2020 Garnacha œMicrocósmico” from Fernando Mora™s Bodegas Frontonio comes in at 13.5 percent octane in this vintage. As I have noted in the past, this wine is crafted from organically-farmed, steep, high elevation, old bush vines, planted on stony soils of slate and sand. The exposition for the vines is due north, which helps to slow ripening. The wine offers up a classic garnacha bouquet of raspberries, garrigue, smoked meats, stony soil tones, a touch of fruitcake and a topnote of bonfire. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and fairly transparent in personality, with good depth at the core, fine soil signature and a long, complex, ripely tannic and well balanced finish. Good juice. 2034-2060."
