REGION: Catalunya - Montsant

Jointly owned by René and Isabelle Barbier of Clos Mogador, Fernando and Marta Zamora (oenologists at the University of Tarragona), and Charlotte and Christopher Cannan, Espectacle is a tiny production of old-vine Garnacha from a dramatically steep site René refers to as the “L’Ermita of Montsant."

René and Sara have taken the goddess as their inspiration for this project. One of their stated goals is “to interpret femininity through a bottle of wine”. This might seem an odd choice for a bodega that elaborates Grenache- and Carignan-based wines in Cataluña, but it makes sense once you taste.
