One of the last of what once was a vast number of old vine, primarily zinfandel vineyards in this neighborhood. Interestingly, planted during the early years of prohibition when grape prices rose dramatically due to the loophole in the national prohibition act which allowed heads of households to produce up to 200 gallons of wine, tax free and legally, per year. Blackberry and black pepper with pronounced acidity. Includes some interplanted red varieties including Alicante Bouchet.
