"Ziereisen's Syrah 2019 Gestad opens with a pure, intense, bloody and meaty, still reductive but refreshing bouquet of dark cherries, berries, violets, black and green olives and freshly milled white pepper. On the palate, this is a medium to full-bodied, pure, round, elegant and juicy, tight and fresh but silky, salty and vivacious Syrah with good concentration and tart but fine tannin grip on the still a bit drying, youthful finish. Highly stimulating, this is one of the best buys of the domaine but needs some years of bottle age—that is, if you don't drink the bottle now in one day. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted over 11 days from the same bottle in June 2022."
