"The 2018 Sylvaner R from Kofererhof is youthfully backward at this time, yet poised like a bomb waiting to explode. Notes of dusty florals, dried peach, pear, hints of young mango and floral undergrowth come forward with some coaxing. It impresses with a density of texture and primary fruit, riding a core of laser beam-like acidity and piercing, salty minerality. The senses are completely refreshed and cleansed with a pleasant inner sweetness that lingers through hints of honeyed melon, along with a subtle note of almond paste. Kofererhof’s R is sourced from some of the oldest known Sylvaner vines in the region, a portion of which is aged in Acacia cask. It’s a wine to be reckoned with."
