Single Cask Nation is the only independent bottler of Scotch Whisky based here in the US. Owned and operated by Joshua Hatton and Jason Johnstone-Yellin, the aim is to uncover the finest and rarest single casks and then bottle them at full cask strength. Though the focus is on Scotch whiskies, Single Cask Nation also bottles wonderful bourbons, rye whiskies, Indian whiskies, and even cask-aged Mezcals from some of the most famous, well-known, and respected producers in the world.

Tasting Notes

This bottling, distilled in November 1999 at an undisclosed Orkney distillery, spent 18 years maturing in a 2nd-fill bourbon barrel. It was bottled at cask strength in May 2018 at 54.8% ABV. Cask #453 yielded 186 bottles for retail sale. A nose of fresh linen and honey drizzled over cantaloupe yields to floral smoke and dried mango on the palate, with a finish of white chocolate, sea salt, and ground grey pepper.
