Barrell Craft Spirits

Single Barrel Bourbon 9th Floor - E503

The idea behind Barrell Craft Spirits is to “explore the unique effects of different distillation methods, barrels, and aging environments, and bottle them at cask strength.” This is accomplished through outstanding relationships within the tightly-knit whiskey community and sourcing the best whiskies available without compromise. By definition, the bottlings of Barrell Spirits are limited in nature with new releases hitting the market frequently. Barrels are sourced from around the country (and the world) & shipped to Barrell’s facilities in Kentucky for additional aging and bottling.

Tasting Notes

This selection was chosen by two members of the Skurnik Spirits Team during a trip to Barrell’s headquarters in Kentucky in the summer of 2019. After tasting 60 different barrel samples over the course of two days, this 14-year-old, Tennessee bourbon came out on top, exhibiting intensified nuance and texture due to its lower ABV than Barrell’s usual releases. Aromas of Cracker Jack peanuts, fennel bulb, caraway & dill transition to a palate of white flowers and lemon poppy seed muffin. 51% ABV
