Sangiovese ‘Pietranera’, Piaggia
80% Sangiovese with 20% Cabernet Franc grown at 250 meters above sea level from southwest facing vines planted to clay and galestro soils. Fermentation takes place using indigenous yeasts. Maceration occurs over the course of 18-20 days, and then the wine ages in used French oak barrels for 3+ months. Wine rests in bottle for 6 months prior to release.
