Rosso di Montalcino ‘Rossofonte’, Ciacci Piccolomini
From Ciacci’s prized Fonte vineyard in Castelnuovo dell’Abate, near the Pianrosso cru, comes this stunning expression of Castelnuovo Sangiovese. Vines are located at 240-360 meters above sea level, all planted to galestro soils. Fermentation occurs in a combination of stainless steel and cement vats. Aging takes place in Salvonian oak for 12 months before resting in bottle for a further 8 months prior to release.
