Riesling, ‘Washington State’, Disruption
The 2016 Disruption Riesling is for anyone ready to explore versatility in style and flavors. The off-dry style is juicy and elegant – an outstanding complement to highly spiced foods from Asia, Latin America, India and beyond. The majority of the fruit is hand-harvested from the Evergreen vineyard, a site widely considered to be the finest source for white wine grapes in Washington State.
In the winery, we whole-cluster press the Riesling directly to tank. The juice is then fermented at very cold temperatures over a long, two month period. This practice in patience preserves the remarkable aromatics of the grapes. The finished wine offers plenty of citrus flavors that are a perfect complement to highly spiced foods. Notes of lime leaf and ginger spice transport the drinker to Thailand. The wine has enough acid to elegantly balance its sugar content (about 11 grams per liter). Notes of white flowers, jasmine and candied ginger coat the palate. The finish is clean and leaves the mouth salivating.
