This enticing rendition of Riesling is crafted in the traditional German Spätlese style; with moderate natural sweetness counterpoised by a bright, invigorating liveliness. In a yearly gamble against the weather, grapes for Spätlese wines are left to hang for a longer time on the vines, allowing them to develop riper flavor profiles. The later picking also increases must weight resulting in a more full-bodied wine. This wine is crafted 60% from the Josef vineyard, 35% from Magdalena, and 5% from HJW. It finishes with a 5.2% RS and 8.5% ABV.

"Give this time in the glass to aerate. Then, delicate aromas of white peach, citrus and florals appear. The palate is, unsurprisingly, quite sweet, but with enough mouthwatering acidity to buoy it. Sip well-chilled with a salty blue cheese. ‡C.P. "
