Alzinger Grüner Veltliner Reserve
At Alzinger, selections are strict, and botrytis is avoided in the Federspiel and Smaragd level wines. Leo separates the Botrytis into two wines: Reserve Riesling and Reserve Grüner Veltliner, where about 20% of the grapes do have Botrytis.
- Fermentation, mostly spontaneous, in Stainless Steel
- Aging for Federspiel in Steel, Smaragd in Austrian Oak cask
- Kept on the lees until bottling – Federspiel bottled in March, Smaragd in August
