Alzinger Grüner Veltliner Reserve

Alzinger Grüner Veltliner Reserve

At Alzinger, selections are strict, and botrytis is avoided in the Federspiel and Smaragd level wines. Leo separates the Botrytis into two wines: Reserve Riesling and Reserve Grüner Veltliner, where about 20% of the grapes do have Botrytis.

  • Fermentation, mostly spontaneous, in Stainless Steel
  • Aging for Federspiel in Steel, Smaragd in Austrian Oak cask
  • Kept on the lees until bottling – Federspiel bottled in March, Smaragd in August
