Nigl 'Privat' Ried Hochäcker 1 ÖTW Kremstal DAC Riesling

Nigl 'Privat' Ried Hochäcker 1 ÖTW Kremstal DAC Riesling

The steep terraces, which are only separated from the Ried Pellingen by a wall, with their mica slate floor form the ideal conditions for growing Riesling. This combination gives the Riesling the dark, cool minaralik as well as the typical vineyard peach taste a lot of substance and a long life. The Riesling Privat comes from this location.

Review:
A tropical hint of pineapple is almost immediately usurped by tangerine peel on the nose. More ethereal notions of crushed citrus leaf also come in. The palate has a riper feel of rounded stone fruit edged with pepper and even more tangerine zestiness. This is bold, bright and concentrated. Gorgeous now, it is certain to shine even brighter with bottle age. Drink by 2040.

Review:
Stunning white-peach and floral nose with great delicacy, this extremely filigree and mineral dry riesling is still rather shy. However, as this sleek and lithe wine rolls gracefully over your palate, it gets ever stonier at the crescendo finale. Drink or hold.
