Kick-on Ranch is a small vineyard located to the northwest of Sta. Rita Hills in California. It is one of the coolest and windiest sites in Santa Barbara County. The soil is Betteravia Sandy Loam, and Tatomer’s section sits on a mild southwest facing hill. The cold air flowing off the Pacific Oceans allows for a long hang-time while avoiding too much Botrytis. The grapes selected for this vineyard designate are only the cleanest, innermost clusters on the vine, free of any rot or sun damage. 12 hours of skin maceration, fermented and aged in stainless steel, blocked ML. Aged for one year in the winery, and one year in bottle before release.
