Pinot Noir, ‘Volcanic’, Patricia Green

The Volcanic bottling takes wine from select barrels of three Dundee Hill vineyard sites to show off what Patricia Green considers to be the best, most positive and classic traits that this appellation has to offer. The Dundee Hills’ Pinot Noirs are about richness, sweet fruit with soft tannins. This wine will show the dense, regal and structured red fruit of Durant, the sublime sweetness of Balcombe Vineyard and the silky elegance and complexity of Weber Vineyard. Certainly, this is a bit of a geeky exercise in winemaking but for those interested in the nature of terroir it is a pretty cool one.
