"Pretty nose of wild strawberries, pomegranates, red cherries, rose water, red tea and licorice. Delicate and elegant, with a medium body and silky, sleek tannins. Fresh and bright. Drink or hold. Screw cap."

"The 2021 Great Western Pinot Noir is austere, detailed, mineral and chalky... a brilliant combination of factors, in my opinion. The length tails out over the lingering finish and exposes an array of red berries, exotic spices and a cooling acid line that sits featherlight on the palate after the wine has gone. Best's has been growing Pinot Noir on the Concongella vineyard since the 1860s, but it wasn't until the 1980s that they decided to extend their plantings with cuttings from the original vines. This is a lacy Pinot Noir with plenty of back-palate persistence. Elegant plus. "
