Bottled with a digestible 11.5% alcohol, the sweet 2019 Herzog Rieslaner Auslese is clear and intense on the topical as well as spicy-scented nose. On the palate, this is an elegant, concentrated and still pretty sweet Auslese with enormously acidity. The 2019 comes along somewhat bold, with stewed fruit, and lacks precision and finesse. It is a more baroque style that will find its friends. Tasted as a sample in April 2020.
This has almost erotic succulence with moderate acidity for this special grape variety, but a ton of caramel and toasty aromas that makes this extremely appealing. Long, creamy finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold
