Spring-blossom, apricot and exotic-fruit aromas are front and center. On the delicious palate, vibrant acidity accompanies white peach, cantaloupe and citrus before an energizing mineral finish.
A pretty gruner with guava and cooked-apple aromas and flavors. Some almond-paste undertones, too. Medium body, creamy texture and a medium fruity finish. Drink now.
The 2019 Grüner Veltliner's bouquet greets me with freshly-cut lemons, the spritz of sour green citrus, the twang of rind followed by floral notes, as hints of green melon and smoke add even further depth. It strikes the palate with amazing focus and verve, seeming angular while also having a pliancy and roundness which soothes the senses, delivering a mix of sweet and savory citrus and herbs; yet it’s the depth and concentration here that resonates throughout. The finish is long, staining with salty mineral tones while the cheeks pucker for another sip.
