Ghemme ‘dei Mazzoni’, Tiziano Mazzoni
From a single vineyard in clay soils at 260 meters above sea level in the Roncati subzone of Ghemme, the Mazzoni cuvee is from 15 year old vines on one hectare. Fermentation with indigenous yeast lasts for 15 days in temperature controlled stainless steel, and the wine then ages for 24 months in large 15 hectoliter casks. After nine month’s rest in bottle, the wine is released on the market. 100% Nebbiolo. Only 200 cases are produced annually!
