Ghemme ‘ai Livelli’, Tiziano Mazzoni
100% Nebbiolo from just a half hectare of vines planted in 1968, the Livelli comes from the same single vineyard as the Mazzoni (clay soils, 260 meters above sea level). Here fermentation and maceration with indigenous yeast run to 40 days in stainless steel, then the wine ages 36 months in oak. For 18 months it’s in used tonneaux (500L) and then its moved into larger oak casks for the last 18 months of aging. Under 100 cases are produced annually.
