Four Grain Straight Bourbon, Laws Whiskey House [New Package]
Laws Whiskey House is a fiercely independent Colorado distillery committed to producing the highest quality whiskey using local ingredients. Each batch is milled, cooked, fermented, distilled, and aged on-site, utilizing heirloom grains from family-owned Colorado farms. The practice of open-air, on-grain fermentation captures the essence of Colorado’s terroir while the copper pot/column still hybrid produces a robust, grain-forward style of whiskey.

Available in a 375ml bottle format, this flagship whiskey is crafted from the four “American mother grains”: corn, wheat, barley, and rye. There aren’t many four-grain bourbons on the market because of the challenge in producing them. Through a labor-intensive, stepped cooking process (in which individual varietals require different cooking temperatures and durations to maximize flavors), each grain is able to lend its unique characteristics to the whiskey. Comprised of a mash bill of 60% corn, 20% Colorado-grown wheat, 10% Colorado-grown rye, and 10% Colorado-grown barley, this bourbon is aged for over three years and bottled at 47.5% ABV. Aromas of orange blossom complement notes of black tea, honey, and dusty pepper on the nose, followed by flavors of pekoe tea, orange peel, and vanilla custard. Hints of sweet tobacco and spice lead to a rich, dry finish.
