"Fusil and struck flint notes along with pungent green herbs complement anticipations of white peach and lime on the nose. Here is one of those 2017s that puts one slightly in mind of Chablis. The polished palate projects a lovely sense of clarity and (despite 12.5% alcohol) lift, with luscious white peach delightfully inflected by herbs and peach kernel. The animatingly-sustained finish is strikingly transparent to smoky and stony mineral nuances. This year’s Eierfels was raised entirely in cask and reflects some of the estate’s last-picked parcels.
