Review:
The 2017 Chianti Riserva Castelrotto is ample and powerful in the glass. A healthy dollop of Merlot adds both mid-palate richness and a firmness in the tannin the straight Chianti never shows. It is a fine wine, but I have to admit that I would love to see what would happen without the addition of Merlot here.
