Chardonnay 'Woolsey Road', Ramey Cellars
Re-planted in 2007 to David’s specifications by the Martinelli family who owns it, this cool site was planted with Old Wente cuttings taken from Ramey’s Chardonnay blocks in Platt Vineyard with low vigor rootstock and vines are spaced one meter by two meters. After pressing, native-yeast and full native malolactic fermentations take place in barrel, with sur lie bâtonnage. Aged for 18 months in 30% new François Frères oak barrels.

Press & Reviews
From a site farmed by the Martinelli family to the producer's specifications, this white is quenching in a depth of acidity, with cool-climate freshness throughout. Gravenstein apple, clove, Meyer lemon and nutmeg provide a lush richness that finishes elegantly balanced.
The 2017 Chardonnay Woolsey Road Vineyard is a racy wine endowed with terrific richness. Lemon confit, white flowers, mint and tropical overtones all grace this unctuous, deeply layered Chardonnay. The balance of textural intensity and freshness is simply compelling. The 2017 is so expressive today.
