Chardonnay, ‘Sonoma Coast’, Banshee
This Chardonnay shows Banshee’s continued addition and refinement of vineyard sources. The wine still possesses a significant amount of Heintz Vineyard as well as a new Sonoma Coast vineyard called Bohemian Green Valley.
The wine was gently pressed in a bladder press using a champagne cycle. Primary fermentation lasted between 28-185 days depending on the lot (there were many very slow ferments that were coaxed along through the spring). 90% barrel fermented with the remainder in stainless steel. Aged 11 months in 90% French oak of which 40% was new. No bâtonnage was done.
