Press & Reviews
This vintage is an opulent and toasty number. Straw yellow in color, this wild fermented wine opens with rich but focused aromas of lemon, lime, orange peel and white-flower blossoms, backed by butterscotch oak and salty, seashell reductive qualities. The fruit is concentrated on the palate, slippery in texture and supported by more toasty, polished oak nuances. This wine has a long life ahead of it. Drink now through 2029.
From the McIntyre vineyard’s oldest Chardonnay vines, this has a tightly drawn nose that hints at the structure and concentration to follow. In the mouth there is stony minerality alongside a firm, very persistent backbone of lemony acidity and an (attractive) phenolic, savoury chew impress. Opening up, it reveals ripe lemon peel, white peach, fleshy white apple, grapefruit and chicken stock poached salsify. Powerful but graceful, with lovely mouthfeel, depth and satisfying length. 100% malolactic fermentation.
