Chardonnay 'Duncan Family Vineyard'

Chardonnay Duncan Family Vineyard Tyler

Just down the road and to the east of the famed Sanford & Benedict Vineyard, along the Santa Rosa Road corridor of the Santa Rita Hills AVA, lies the Duncan Family Vineyard. Atop the dramatic north-facing slope sits a small planting of some really stunning chardonnay. This section is on the gently leaning eastern edge of the parcel, slightly more out of the breeze and into the morning sun. The Duncan Chardonnay reveals the site’s ocean influence and California sunshine. Sea breeze, wet stone and white flower give way to a juicy, citrus core and mouth-watering finish.

Winemaking: Whole cluster pressed to tank, settled briefly before being moved to another tank for fermentation. After fermentation is active, the juice goes down to barrels and puncheons with no more than 15% new oak. No battonage and full ML. Left on lees for 10 months before going back to tank for an additional few months of aging.
