You’d assume Meunier Rosé would be a fruit bomb. Think again, Skippy. A solera of 2003/2014, it’s 92% PM and 8% PN, disg 06/2016. It has an obdurate solid dignity and a ton of complexity from the red wine. A Champagne you don’t drink so much as chew

Smoke, candied almond and licorice notes accent the exuberant ripe strawberry, black cherry coulis and whole-grain toast flavors in this well-balanced, juicy version, with a firm, lightly chalky bead. Drink now through 2018. -A.N.
(89% pinot meunier, 6% still pinot noir and 5% saignee pinot meunier; aged for 14 months on its lees and disgorged in March, 2013): Light, bright pink. Fresh red berries and white pepper on the fragrant nose. Sappy and expressive, with zesty acidity giving clarity and lift to the raspberry and blood orange flavors. Finishes fresh and spicy.
