Bourbon, 'Ruby Port Finish - Experiential Series', Laws Whiskey House
Laws Whiskey House is a fiercely independent Colorado distillery committed to producing the highest quality whiskey using local ingredients. Each batch is milled, cooked, fermented, distilled, and aged on-site, utilizing heirloom grains from family-owned Colorado farms. The practice of open-air, on-grain fermentation captures the essence of Colorado’s terroir while the copper pot/column still hybrid produces a robust, grain-forward style of whiskey.

Ruby Port, most commonly enjoyed as a dessert wine, is a bright fortified full of sweet, red fruit notes. The classic Portuguese Ruby Port barrel used to finish this expression of Laws Four Grain Straight Bourbon perfectly complements the whiskey’s notes of orange peel, black tea, and vanilla custard. Aged for over three years in new, 53-gallon, charred oak barrels and finished in 225-liter Ruby Port Barrels, the resulting whiskey expresses golden raisins and fig on the nose with confectionary notes of Christmas pudding and plum on the palate. Light tannin and nutmeg on the finish keeps balance in check. 47.5% ABV
