"Ferruccio Grimaldi is based in Novello, where his principal vineyard is located. It offers a stylish nose of sour cherries and a hint of tobacco. It's weighty and concentrated on the palate but not leaden, and as well as bold, ripe tannins it exudes energy and spice. The finish is lively, brisk and very long. In this vintage, for the first time he produced a second wine from Novello, Ravera, of equal quality and a similar profile."
