Barolo ‘Margheria’, Luigi Pira
100% Nebbiolo from a Serralunga d’Alba vineyard planted in 1959. Vines are located at 340 meters above sea level, planted to calcareous clay. Maceration and fermentation take place over 15-20 days in horizontal steel vats with temperature control. Aging occurs in 25hL Slavonian oak casks for 24 months prior to bottling.
