Barbera d'Alba Superiore, S & B Borgogno

100% Barbera sourced from sandy marl and clay soils of Castellinaldo (Roero), Vergne (Barolo) and Diano d’Alba.  The 40+-year-old vines grow at 250 meters with a southern exposure.  Maceration with the cap of about 10-12 days in wooden vats with frequent pumping over.  Malolactic fermentation occurs in steel before the wine is aged in 2500-5000 liter Slavonian oak barrels. 800 cases produced on average per year.
